About Lesson

To install SSL on a WordPress website, follow these steps:

  1. Purchase an SSL certificate from a trusted provider or check if your hosting provider offers a free SSL certificate.

  2. Log in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the Plugins > Add New page.

  3. Search for the “Really Simple SSL” plugin and install and activate it.

  4. Once activated, the plugin will automatically detect your SSL certificate and enable HTTPS on your website.

  5. Check your website to confirm that it is now using HTTPS instead of HTTP.

  6. If your website is still not showing as secure, try clearing your browser cache and cookies or force-refreshing your website.

  7. You may also need to update any internal links within your website to use the HTTPS protocol instead of HTTP. You can use a plugin like Better Search Replace to search and replace URLs within your website.

Note: If you have any issues with installing the SSL certificate or enabling HTTPS on your website, contact your hosting provider or SSL certificate provider for assistance.
